Ellie's 4 ½ Birthday

Officially Ellie's half birthday is today, but the kids are at my parents house all week, so we celebrated it last week.

As usual we started out with birthday donuts.

I bought that half birthday candle last year. I love that we get to use it every year.

(The sun was bothering Ellie's eyes)

Every year I tell the kids that they can have their birthday party at the park and invite a bunch of friends, or they can have their party at our house and just have a few friends over. Ellie was the first one who has ever picked a park party. We invited all of her friends who all happen to have older siblings that are friends with Joey and Hannah. It was quite the group!

Since the birthday girl doesn't like cake or cupcakes, she picked popsicles! It was the perfect treat for a sunny day! It was also perfect that the splash area was open so kids ran back and forth from the playground to the splash pad.

The older brothers all enjoyed playing ball tag and football.

Present time.

This was definitely Ellie's favorite part!

Our first birthday party at the park was a huge success. It was fun, cheap and easy. Win-win-win!

For dinner that night, Ellie picked Chick-fil-A.

Then it was off to Toys R Us to pick her present.

This picture cracks me up. Clearly she was unimpressed with something in the princess aisle.

Going into it, she thought she was going to pick a Lego set, and sure enough, Legos it was!

The next night we had my parents over for a taco dinner. Unfortunately Ellie came down with a fever that day, but she still had a nice day relaxing in her jammies, playing with her new toys, and watching a movie or two.

More presents!

The princess crown and earrings were from Hannah.

 Ellie was a fan!

We ended the night with root beer floats for dessert. Happy half birthday, my sweets!

Love the picture of you in Target (Megan).
The picture where Ellie has the funny face in Target looks exactly like a Katie/Lauren Meszaros face! She is their triplet sister!
What a fun 1/2 birthday...can't do that in December....even in California!

I agree with Karen... love the face Ellie is making in the Target picture....
But what i liked most was the fact that she had a fever for her birthday party and WE WERE NOT THERE! So, we aren't the birthday jinx that i thought we were... It's Grandparents in general that are the birthday jinx for sickness!!!
