At the end of May, my sister and I both flew to Denver to meet our new little nephew, Bowen.

Going to Timmy and Jill's house always feels like a vacation. 

Even though this time we tried to make ourselves useful, including hanging out with this guy.

While we were in Denver, Rachel wanted to take advantage of the fact that there was an In-N-Out nearby.

Timmy and Jill have been wanting to use cloth diapers, but were a little unsure of how to start, so Rachel gave them a cloth diapering lesson.

He loves his mama! 

Not so sure about his aunt! Ha!

Rachel and I loved hanging out with Timmy and Jill. It was fun for us to see Timmy as a Dad.

He doesn't take it too seriously.

Snickerdoodle cereal with a snickerdoodle cookie makes for a delicious breakfast.

Rachel left early Monday morning because it was her son's birthday, but I stayed until Tuesday evening so I took a few nap shifts while I watched YouTube videos in the basement.

It was a great vacation!

 

The awards ceremony for Ellie's middle school was last week.

Ellie won the award for Tenacity, which describes her pretty well. She's stubborn with a little fire.

She also got the "Core Four" athlete award for playing all four sports: volleyball, soccer, basketball and flag football.

Then she got the ASB Passion Award.

She had the BEST time on ASB this year and got really close with the three advisors, Mr. Powell, Mrs. Atkins and Miss Baker. 

I told Mrs. Atkins, Miss Baker and Mr. Powell that they all ruined her for high school. I don't think her high school experience will be able to compare with her amazing time in middle school.

While Hannah was at prom, the rest of us walked down the street to this beautiful wedding venue in our neighborhood for our old neighbor's Sweet 16 party. You heard that right, a wedding venue for a Sweet 16! It definitely seemed like a wedding. Gabby moved into our old neighborhood during Covid and quickly became close friends with Ellie and Cameron. I was worried that a third girl would add drama to that dynamic, but she was SO sweet and fit in like a dream! 

I was very excited for the party! 

The food was really good, there was an open bar, a dessert bar and even a candy bar! Amazing!

We were all really looking forward to spending the evening with one of our very favorite friends and old neighbors, the Levitons. Unfortunately Cameron's family couldn't make it.

Outside there was corn hole and a jumbo Connect 4.

Inside was the dance party!

We also had some fun at the photo booth.

It was such a great night. And then we just walked home!

 

Hannah's lacrosse team made it all the way to the CIF championship game this year.

It was a great year, but a terrible last game. I hate to blame the refs, but the refs were awful. It was very frustrating. 

It was a bummer way to end the season, but the girls went straight from the game to get ready for prom at Lyric and London's house. 

They cleaned up nicely! 

We went to Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside for the pictures, and it was a beautiful spot.

Hannah is a junior so it was her first time going to prom.

The girls went from pictures, to a friends's house to eat dinner, and then went down to Torrey Pines for the actual dance. Hannah had the best time!
