There's Treasure Everywhere
Saturday, March 8, was Hannah's actual birthday, and she had four of her friends over for a birthday party.

We have a beach volleyball court in our new neighborhood, so the girls went out to play. Ellie came back  to tell us that Andrew, a guy from the co-ed summer basketball league that Hannah and Joey played in, was at the volleyball court with some of his friends. Joey went out to see him, and they all ended up playing a game, girls vs. boys.

After volleyball, the girls came back and made pizzas with our pizza oven.

Hannah wanted to do a craft at her birthday party, so I bought little white pots.

The girls painted them, and then they planted succulents.

Hannah loves cheesecake!

Hannah, Lyric, Sarah, Zara and London.

These girls are the sweetest. At one point they decided to go around the table and say their favorite things about Hannah. Thankfully I got it on video. It was so lovely to see a group of girls wanting to build up and encourage each other.

The next day Hannah opened a few presents from us. Ellie and Joey had a competition of who could make her the best card.

When our kids turn sixteen, they get a phone with service (before that they can only use WIFI). Hannah wanted an Apple phone, so she got a hand-me-down one from her grandparents, and then we added her to our cell phone plan.

First thing Monday morning, Hannah took her driving test and passed with flying colors. I don't know who was more excited, her or me!

Last, but not least for Hannah's never-ending three week birthday extravaganza, Hannah, Chloe, Abigail and Ellie went out for a birthday shopping trip, dinner and fro-yo for dessert!

Our sweet Hannah Belle had her sweet sixteen birthday!

It started off the Sunday before her birthday with a family birthday party. We had the Meisters and both sets of grandparents over for dinner.

There was a lot of karaoke involved.

Which led to a lot of laughter.

Abigail let Hannah borrow her birthday hat for the day!

We had a big Chinese feast followed by presents.

While Hannah is still expressive when she opens her presents, nothing compares to when she was 3!

I don't know if 16 has ever been so sweet!

After presents, we played Werewolf/Mafia. Milo was intrigued.

It was a great birthday party filled with her favorite food, dessert and people!
