No, I'm not pregnant again. One year ago today that I found out I was pregnant with our little bug.
I had taken a pregnancy test on Saturday, the day before, but the line was so faint I could barely tell it was there. I needed a second opinion so poor Andy woke up with me standing over him, starring at him, holding the test stick. Let's just say it freaked him out a little.
After he regained his senses, he couldn't really tell if there was a line or not either. We decided to buy another one and wait until the next day since they are supposed to be the most accurate in the morning. I really didn't feel differently at all, so I was sure I was just getting my hopes up for nothing.
Sunday morning, despite my skepticism, I took another test. Lo and behold a bright blue line! What an amazing feeling! I look at Joey now, and I can't believe he was the one growing in me. The Lord is good!
Andy and I went on our Valentine's date today. We dropped off the bug with the babysitters (a.k.a. the grandparents), and drove down to the Cheesecake Factory in San Diego. We decided to go for lunch so it would be less crowded, and it would work better with Joey's schedule.I had only been to the Cheesecake Factory once before, and Andy had never been so it was quite a treat. We both had great meals. I had this yummy chicken breast sandwich with fry bread and big chunks of avocado. Andy had a huge burrito smothered in cheese (if you know Andy's obsession with cheese, you know that's always a good thing). We even ended up getting dessert, which we never do at restaurants. Andy had a slice of the "original cheesecake," and I got the strawberry shortcake.
I did have a tiny bite of Andy's cheesecake, still trying to understand why people like that stuff. Man, it was nasty! I know I have weird taste, and I don't like some things that most people get really excited about. Even though I don't share their excitement, I understand why people like things such as coffee, chocolate, and wine. However, I don't think I will ever comprehend liking a cake made out of cheese. Ugh!
So, cheesecake aside, we had a lovely, lovely time!
Valentine's Day is the one holiday that makes liars out of Andy and me. For some reason, on this holiday alone, we agree not to get each other presents, and somehow when the big day rolls around, we both have presents for each other. The sad thing is that after four years we are still genuinely surprised when the other person gets something for us. Sad but true!
This year I woke up to a sock hunt! A little background...I love cozy socks! One year for Christmas a student gave me a pair of really cozy socks. As soon as I would get home from teaching, I would take off my shoes and slip into them. Such a wonderful feeling! Now that I'm a stay-at-home mom I get to wear them all the time!
Yesterday morning when I woke up I saw this random pink fluffy thing in the bathroom. It turns out it was a sock. I kept looking around the house and found 6 individual socks, each stuffed with Starburts and a sweet note! Hooray! I'm actually wearing the pinks ones right now!

So, you ask, what did I break down and get Andy? Well some of you eagle-eyed readers spotted one of Andy's prized possession in these photos from our condo. He LOVES his Batman pillow case. Well, now he gets to rest his head on Superman and Spiderman.

One great thing about being back in California is the fresh fruit and vegetables. I was really spoiled growing up here and enjoying yummy fruit all year long. I realized my fortune when I went to school in Pennsylvania, and even when we lived in New Mexico. It was just a little scarier buying produce in the grocery store; I never knew what I was going to get.The other day I bought a box of California Clementines called "Cuties." Clementines are irresistibly sweet, juicy mandarin tangerines that make a great snack. The above photo is what happened when I had a little too much fun with the stickers that came on the Cuties. As you can see, Joey did not have nearly as much fun as I did.
Alright, one more of these silly things. Kelly "tagged" me (a while ago) so now I'm supposed to think of six weird things about myself. The hard part isn't thinking up six weird things, just six weird things that I want to share with everyone. Hmmm...
1. I actually enjoy doing laundry. This is good since I now do laundry pretty much everyday.
2. I don't like chocolate. I'll eat it, but it's just not that appealing to me. However, if you give me white chocolate or dark chocolate, I will just give it to someone else or just throw it away. Yuck!
3. Sometimes when I'm cooking I pretend I'm on a cooking show. I actually talk out loud about what I'm doing. This is very embarrassing.
4. I've slept in a men's bathroom. Seriously.
5. This weirdness just started recently, but for some inexplicable reason whenever I get in the car, I immediately turn down the volume on the car stereo. It doesn't matter how loud it is at the time, it is still too loud. I don't even notice that I do this most of the time, until Andy points it out to me.
6. Okay, I give up! I can't think of another one so we're going to do fill in the blank. Can you think of something weird about me?

Joey and I took our first long car ride on Tuesday. We drove an hour and a half to Anaheim to see our friend Pinky!

She was working at a Craft/Hobby show selling the Lazy Scrapper. Incidentally, I am now the proud owner of a lazy scrapper (thanks Pinky).
Last time Pinky saw me, I was 8 months pregnant. It was so fun for me to get to show her little Joey. I picked her up at the craft show, and we went to Tony Roma's for dinner. It was so nice to catch up with my good friend. If anyone else wants to come for a visit, Joey and I would love to see you, and we are willing to drive!
