There's Treasure Everywhere
We're a little more than halfway through summer, and it's flying by as usual. We've had such an amazing time relaxing and hanging out. I really like to have as little scheduled as possible for the summer, but I was second guessing myself when I had almost nothing on the calendar after the first two weeks of summer other than our family vacation coming up in August. As much as I know my kids like downtime, I thought that many weeks of it in a row might drive us a little bonkers.

WRONG.

It's been glorious! Not that we've been sitting around our house all summer. Our summer has been filled with pool time, park dates with friends, trips to the library with LOTS of relaxing down time in between. Basically we periodically interrupt our lounging around with fun activities!

Our schedule has been wonderfully flexible with very little "have-tos."

Friday was Google's annual summer party. This year it was the "Google County Fair." They literally put on a whole fair with rides, games and food.

My brother-in-law's law firm has an office that recently opened in LA, and they sent Michael to work there for the week of the Fourth of July. Lucky for us, Rachel and her kids were able to tag along. We are going on vacation with them to Colorado in August so we didn't think that we'd get a visit from them this summer. It was a wonderful, unexpected treat!
It's been a while since I've posted, but we've started off our summer with a busy bang.

For the first week, my kids went to my parents' house for VBS at their church and "Camp Nana." It was the second year all the kids went, and it was such a great way to start off our summer.
