There's Treasure Everywhere

End of Soccer

Two weekends ago was the kids' final week of soccer. Unfortunately due to rain late Halloween night, the soccer games were canceled. The Red Rubies still had their end of the season party at the house of one of the girls.

We had pizza and then Andy handed out the trophies and said something nice about each girl. It was very sweet.

This past weekend, make up games were scheduled. Joey and Hannah already had plans to spend the weekend with my parents, so we knew they would miss the games, but Andy still had to coach the Red Rubies. Then, the morning of the game, Andy woke up to an email from the coach of the other team saying his team didn't have enough girls coming to play. Since it was such late notice, Andy decided that in lieu of a game he would host a scrimmage for the girls, siblings, and any parents that wanted to join.

Guess who was pumped about that idea?

We told Ellie she could wear Hannah's jersey and shin guards and play soccer. She was thrilled to be an honorary Red Ruby for the day.

It turned out we had three Red Rubies come and two siblings.

Andy showed Ellie and the other little brother how to dribble to the goal.

 High five!

 For the goal...

 Nailed it.

After a little practice, it was time for a scrimmage.

 Kids vs. Dads.

Ellie didn't love being jostled by the older girls, so she came off the field and wanted me to take this picture.

The best part of being a Red Ruby for the day? Snacks!

Stay tuned for the next post about Joey and Hannah's weekend with my parents. Here's a hint...it was kind of epic!

So darling!
I think you should post a picture of her in her green Sunday dress. We don't see enough of her in fancy clothes!
