There's Treasure Everywhere
Last weekend, Phish came to town. Just like in 2016, Andy decided to go to two concerts by himself. This time both concerts were at the Forum in LA.
Andy drove to work on Friday (instead of taking the Google bus) and then left work a little early to drive up to LA for the concert. And yes, he always wears that same Sixers shirt to the Phish concert.
Andy's seats were pretty far away, but he loved the concert. Phish have SO many songs that each concert is really different. The second set was filled with songs he was hoping to hear!
It was one of his favorite Phish concerts he's been to.
While Andy was gone for the night, the kids and I lived it up a little at home. We went to the beach with a bunch of church friends and stayed until 6:15. We were starving so we picked up In-N-Out on the way home. I told the kids that not many people in the world get to spend a whole day at the beach and then have In-N-Out on the way home. We are very blessed!
Since Andy was going to go back up to LA Saturday night, and since he had been wanting to take the kids to a baseball game this summer and since the kids LOVE getting to stay in a hotel, we decided to combine it all into one weekend of fun. Saturday afternoon we drove up to an Embassy Suites in Anaheim and met Andy's parents there. The plan was for the kids and I to hang out at the hotel with Andy's parents while Andy drove up to the Phish concert that night. The kids thought that the Embassy Suites was the fanciest hotel ever. Once we got checked into our room, we went down to the pool for a bit. Then we hit up the free happy hour. The kids got snacks and Shirley Temples. There were a lot of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, so after happy hour we walked down to BJ's about a mile away. We had a great time!
While we were living it up in Anaheim, Andy drove back up to the LA Forum for the second concert. When he got his tickets he picked the "best available seats" option. He couldn't believe where he ended up: front row on the side, right behind the piano player. He was pretty pumped.

The next day, we walked from our hotel over to the Anaheim Angels stadium. Andy got this great deal on tickets, and then it happened to be "Free Mike Trout Jersey" day for the kids. Score!
It was a really hot day, and our seats ended up being in the blazing sun, so the girls decided to sit back in the shaded area and hope that no one came to claim those seats. It was a success and SO much cooler in the shade with the breeze blowing.
Joey really wanted to catch a foul ball or home run (they were right by the foul pole) so the boys braved the sun. That's a sweet dad and grandpa right there!
At one point, the boys did come back with us to take a brief break from the sun. The game itself was a bit of a dud, but as Papa J would say a bad day watching baseball is still a great day!

Andy's seat on the second night was amazing. Didn't they play the same music?
Where did he stay on Friday night and what did he do all day Saturday?
No, they have so many songs in their catalog that they only repeat songs every 3-4 concerts, and that's only their super popular songs. If you go to two shows in a row, you're hearing two completely different sets of songs.
