Thursday was our annual visit to Google for "Take Your Child to Work Day." It's one the kids' favorite days of the year.

 

 Ellie decided to be in the school play this year, "Queen of Hearts," a twist on Alice in Wonderland. She was a card along with all the other first graders in the play.

He is risen! He is risen, indeed!

It's nice having older kids. They found their Easter baskets quietly and went downstairs while Andy and I slept in a bit.

Joey had a band concert at Knott's Berry Farm a couple of Saturdays ago. I dropped him off at school at 7:30 am, and he didn't get back until 9:30 pm. His band did a great job and won first place.

Hanging out at the park was a little disappointing. It was super crowded (weekend + spring break time + Knott's Boysenberry Festival = too many people) so they only had time to go on one ride in between their performance and awards ceremony at the end of the day. They still had fun hanging out though.

Since we just had the girls, we thought it would be fun to do date nights. Hannah and Andy decided to go to BJs.

Of course they had to end their night with a Pizookie.

Instead of going out to dinner, Ellie and I had mac and cheese at home and then walked down the street to get a pedicure. It was Ellie's first ever pedicure.

She was a fan.

After our pedicures, we came home and played Connect 4 for a while. When Andy and Hannah got home, the four of us played Rummikub. We had such a fun Saturday!

We had Spring Break the first week in April. Monday was the only day that we had warm, sunny weather so we made sure to go to the pool that afternoon. The rest of the week was cool and cloudy, but we still had a great time!

On Tuesday, Ellie wanted to go to Old Navy to buy an Easter dress that matches the one that Hannah got for her birthday. Then Joey, kind of jokingly, asked if we could go to GameStop, so I thought it would be fun to all go to the mall. Turns out, it was a surprising amount of fun.

There was an Easter bunny at the mall with no one in line so I convinced the kids to go say hi. Really it was the basket of free jelly beans that convinced them.

Five years ago one of my dear friends, Lindsey, moved to Seattle. She's been back to San Diego several times to visit, so my other friend Sarah and I thought it was about time we visited her. I was especially excited because I had never been to Seattle before.

When we were looking for a good time to go, the best weekend for all three of us was when Andy was going to be away for March Madness. Thankfully my parents and Andy's parents were both around to help. My parents took the girls and Joey spent the weekend with Andy's parents for a mini March Madness. Needless to say, everyone had a blast.

The first day we got there, we insisted on hanging out on Lindsey's lovely patio. It was so cozy with our blankets, fireplace and twinkle lights.

Andy's annual March Madness trip was a few weeks ago. As usual, he flew to Philadelphia a couple of days early to hang out with his brother's family. Timmy and Sarah both had to work on Wednesday, so Andy had Hank for the day.
