Last Saturday the kids' school and another school nearby joined up to host a big Country Fair as a fundraiser. Joey had two basketball games and a baseball game that day so he couldn't go, but the girls and I headed over for a few hours. We got there right when it started on Saturday, so it wasn't very crowed. 

Ellie loved getting to ride the ponies!

Each grade had a performance time at the Fair which was optional for the kids. The second grade sang "My Favorite Things" from Sound of Music. Hannah loves an opportunity to perform!

Once the performance was over, we headed over to the rides. Hannah was really excited about riding this ride. She had ridden it before at the Google Fair and loved it. The line was a little long so while she was waiting for that ride, 

Ellie and I went back to the ponies.

Then Ellie found some rides that were more her speed.

This ride was one of the more intense rides, and Hannah was brave enough to try it. Man, it went fast! She didn't love it, but I was impressed she gave it a try!

In addition to the rides, there were also games and an arts and craft area. Ellie was pumped to be able to get her face painted, and both girls loved making the crafts. Originally, I was planning on coming back to the fair with Joey later in the day, but after his three games, he was pooped. I couldn't have been happier. I rode one fair ride and apparently that was one ride too many because I felt a little queasy for the rest of the day. Apparently, I'm officially too old for fair rides, but we still had a great time!

Hannah played t-ball softball for the past two years and had a great time. The problem with softball is that they go straight from t-ball to kid pitch which we heard was kind of a weird transition. We decided to move Hannah over to baseball so that she could have a year or two with the pitching machine. While Joey was on the Mustang A's, Hannah was on the Pinto A's with the exact same coaches (plus Coach Schmidt who is her beloved first grade teacher's husband.)

Hannah ended up having a blast playing baseball. She's got enough tomboy in her, that she did great with the boys. One time I told her how much fun it was to watch her play baseball and she said, "Not as much fun as playing baseball."

This is Joey's second season in Mustang, and he is on the A's. He has three coaches: Coach Walker (who coached his Pinto Cubs team), Coach Sheriff (who coached his soccer team this past season), and Andy. Going into the season, we knew it was going to be a great year!

Every once in a while we "luck out" and one of the parents on the team is a photographer and takes great pictures of the kids. This was one of those years so we got LOTS of pictures of Joey playing. I really tried to post only the best ones, but there's still a bunch so feel free to scroll quickly! :-)

This was Ellie's first year doing softball. In fact, it was her first time doing any kind of organized sports. They didn't have enough coaches, so Andy ended up being her coach, and he got his Dad to be the assistant coach while his parents were in town for three months.

Ellie was thrilled to finally be on a team of her own and to have her Dad and Grandpa be the coaches.

Take Your Child to Work Day is one of the kids' favorite days of the year!

Ellie loves playing with her siblings and friends, but she's also very content playing on her own while everyone is at school. One morning she started out as a cowboy and ended as a mom of triplets!

Some time ago Hannah and her best friend Chloe made up this game they call "Mean Lady." One person is the mean lady and bosses the other kids around making them do all sorts of chores. I love when they play this in our backyard because they usually sweep, water the plants, etc.
