What We've Been Up To

I haven't posted in almost a month, but I can sum up that month in two words...sickness and sports, with an emphasis on the sickness part.

I last blogged that Joey and Hannah had fevers, and then Ellie got a fever on Valentine's Day. Unlike the older two kids, Ellie's fever was not short-lived. It lasted for six days and included a congested cough and cold. She finally got rid of the fever, but the cold and cough continued. About a week later she started crying about her ear hurting so we went to the doctor and found out that she had a double ear infection. A few days later she got another fever. Thankfully this time it only lasted two days. Then on Friday morning, she woke up covered with a rash from head to toe, so we went back to the doctor. With all the news stories about measles lately, I was sure that's what she had, but to my relief, the doctor said it was just a rash from her mystery virus. While the doctor was checking her, he also found that her double ear infection hadn't gone away yet (after seven days on antibiotics) so he prescribed her a different medication to try. This is pretty much what my bathroom counter has looked like for the past month:

(The NiteTime/DayTime capsules are for Andy who is getting over the hacking cough that the rest of us had.)

Now for the more fun part...sports! Joey just finished his second season of basketball. He was on the Lakers this year.
Notice his sweet, new Rec Specs! Of course he picked out the GLOWING red ones!

Then Joey started his third season of baseball, and Hannah started her first season of softball.

Go Orange Crush!

With her biggest fan!

Andy loves coaching baseball and is actually helping with both teams this year.

Hannah is very smiley when she plays sports!

Joey is on the Cubs this year with a really nice team (and a cute assistant coach in the background).
