The day after Thanksgiving, Andy asked to see the Fancy Nancy Book that he had read to Ellie the day before called "Fancy Nancy: Ooh La La! It's a Beauty Day." In the book, Fancy Nancy sets up a spa for her mom in the backyard to pamper her for her birthday. Part of the description of the book on Amazon reads, "Complete with tips and recipes for creating a super-deluxe beauty day of your own. Fancy Nancy: Ooh La La! It's Beauty Day will inspire budding beauty experts to open up shop and join in the deluxe fanciness!"
That is a very apt description because the book inspired Andy (apparently a budding beauty expert!) to open shop and have a spa day for his girls. He called it "Daddy Spa." The girls were just a wee bit ecstatic.
Andy had the girls change into their robes and warmed up some towels in the microwave for their heads.
He set out some relaxing reading for them.
Then the pampering really got serious. My favorite part is that we didn't have any cucumbers so Andy used zucchini. I'm not sure Fancy Nancy would have approved of Andy wedging his sneakers under the girls' chairs to keep them tilted back, but it worked!
Andy used one of Fancy Nancy's recipes for a face mask using bananas, honey and cream.

The girls thought it was pretty funny to have such a gloopy mess on their faces.
Once their face masks had been cleaned off, it was time for mani/pedis
and a refreshing sparkling drink. I love how Ellie was too short for her foot bath, so Andy used a pot to give it a boost.
Andy really did all of the work, but I did step in to help with painting nails. Even Super Dads have their limitations.
I often tell the kids that the best thing I ever did for them was picking Andy as their dad. True story. He is just the best. These girls certainly think so!

I cannot NOT comment on this post. This is just the most precious thing ever. What an absolutely adorable thing for Andy to do and so sweet that you have documented it here so your girls will always be able to remember it!
