There's Treasure Everywhere
A couple of weekends ago my parents and I hit the road for another cousin's wedding. This time we were headed to Las Vegas. Our drive was going great until we were about thirty minutes outside of Las Vegas. Apparently an RV caught on fire about two miles ahead of us, and it turned into a brush fire. The freeway came to a dead stop and we didn't move again for two and a half hours! It was much nicer than being in stop and go traffic though because we could get out of our car, read, relax, etc. You can't see it super clearly in the picture, but the traffic was backed up all the way to the horizon. It must have taken hours and hours to clear up!
Finally we made it to Las Vegas. My parents rented an Airbnb condo for the weekend. It was amazing. So much better than a hotel. We were able to have a nice area to hang out, and my dad made us breakfast both mornings, and there was even a pool. My parents and I got to Las Vegas Friday evening, and Timmy and Jill came from LA on Saturday.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Andy was holding down the fort with the kids. Thankfully his schedule wasn't as crazy as the last time I left town, but Joey did have a basketball tournament about forty-five minutes away. They spent most of the day there on Saturday, and then went up again after church on Sunday.
After the games on Saturday, Joey got some new basketball shoes that he had really been wanting. They are KDs (Kevin Durant's Nike shoes) that Andy found for a great deal at the outlet mall. Joey was over-the-moon about them and said, "Kevin Durant must have been SO excited when Nike showed him these!" Boys are so funny about their shoes!
Of course they had a movie night while I was gone because those are always so fun!
The weekend would have been a perfect success had it not been for Ellie slamming her pinky in the car door! Poor Andy! Why do those freak accidents always seem to happen when he is on duty?!
