There's Treasure Everywhere

After we left Mendocino, we drove up to Eureka. This is the part of the trip where we really started seeing redwoods.

We drove through the Avenue of the Giants on our way, and stopped a few times to walk around the redwoods.

Man, those trees are huge!

On one of our stops through the Avenue of the Giants, we could hike to the Eel River.

There happened to be a lot of flat rocks by the water, so we stayed skipping stones for a while.

Humboldt Bay was another place we wanted to check out on our way to Eureka.

We navigated there and it took us to this super thin peninsula with no one around.

It was random, but it was pretty so we pulled our car over and had lunch on the side of the bay. Then we drove to Eureka and were super disappointed with how run down the town was so we checked into our Airbnb as soon as we could and enjoyed a nice quiet evening there.
