After 12 years, Joey played in his last official basketball game.

We had Senior Night last week.

  We celebrated the four seniors on the team.

Unexpectedly, our good friends from our old school all came to watch Joey (and Zachary!) play their last game of the season.

These guys have been friends for years and have been at so many of Joey's birthday parties.

 

Nate and Joey have been friends since they were on the same soccer team in fourth grade.

After the game, the big group of us all went out to dinner at In-N-Out. It was a great night with old friends, celebrating a lot of good memories.

At the end of the season, Joey was awarded Best Offensive Player and Most Valuable Player. What a great ending to his basketball career!

 

After we moved, Ellie got excited about the idea of doing our Valentine scavenger hunt in the new house.

As usual, Andy went all out. It was pretty amazing.

With so many more potential hiding places, some clues really stumped us.

Andy bought a little "escape room" kit online and incorporated that into the scavenger hunt too.

That made it extra fun.

We all love this tradition that started when Ellie was a baby. It will be weird that Joey won't be with us next year. 

 Ellie is on the student leadership team at her middle school. One of the perks of doing ASB is getting to go to Disneyland. Really, it's the number one reason she wanted to join. ASB actually alternates between going to Disneyland and California Adventure. I volunteered to drive before I knew we were going to California Adventure, and I was a little disappointed. I've only been there once and it was definitely underwhelming, but then I realized that was almost 16 years ago! 

Look at those babies! Hannah was three months old and Joey was 2. Crazy!

It turns out they've made a lot of changes and improvements over the past 16 years!

These girls came in my car- Kenzie, Ellie, Taylor and Gianna. Gianna's mom, my good friend Amber, also came with us.

When we first got there, we met up with the whole ASB group. There are about 70 of them altogether.

The kids had a two hour scavenger hunt together, so Amber and I went on some rides. The lines were nice and short in the morning.

After the scavenger hunt was over, we checked in with the girls thinking they would just want to go off and do their own thing together, but they actually wanted to stick with us!

Ellie was tired of her ears, so I happily took them!

The lines got much longer later in the day, but we were able to go on the Radiator Springs ride twice and Soarin' Over the World once, which turned out to be our two favorite rides.

The Cars area was very cute.

The other girls wanted to ride two bigger rides, one where you go upside down and one that has a huge drop. Ellie was NOT interested in either of those so we hung out and did smaller rides.

This ride looked really cute, but it was pretty lame. At least we got the cutest car!

We had a great day, and it made it extra fun that Amber and I unexpectedly spent most of the day with the girls. We're looking forward to going back to Disneyland next year with this group!

 Did you hear...the EAGLES WON THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR!!!!

We hosted a little party for Andy's parents and the Meisters. Only people who are die hard Eagles fans, or were willing to pretend to be ones for the day were invited.

We had our snacks, and we were ready for the game!

The very beginning of the game made us a little nervous, but it didn't take long for the Eagles to run away with it. The blow out probably wasn't as fun for other Super Bowl watchers, but we loved it!

The girls didn't make it through the whole game, so they went upstairs once the Eagles' victory was assured. Andy went up to celebrate with them afterwards. 

We moved!!! 

It's a long story, but we found ourselves needing more room, so although we never planned on moving, we bought a new house at the end of November.

We actually closed on the house on Friday and left town for Indiana for Thanksgiving on the following Monday.

The one project we wanted to get done before we left town was to paint the garage. As soon as we got the keys, we headed over to the house to start painting. Ellie and I got a head start while the other two kids were at school and Andy was working. While we were getting everything prepped to paint, a delivery guy showed up with this amazing box of Crumble cookies that our realtor had sent over. We were PUMPED! 

As soon as Hannah showed up she dug right in! 

Then we finally got to the actual painting. 

We painted it the same color as our garage at our old house. I just can't handle having flat paint, even in the garage.

We spent Friday and Saturday painting.

Then Joey and Andy bought and assembled some shelves from Home Depot.

We still needed to get the inside of the house painted (it was all flat paint) so we decided that we would have one last Christmas season at our old house and then move when we got back from Philadelphia.

That gave us a chance to do a few projects before we moved in. Besides getting the house painted, we also had this wall shiplapped.

Because the garage was painted, we were also able to start slowly moving things over to the garage. 

When we got back from Philadelphia, it was go time. We packed up everything and used our three cars to move it all over. It was great being able to do the majority of it ourselves. We also unpacked into our new house as we went. I tell you what, my biggest piece of advice for moving is to move with three teenagers! They were SO helpful! Especially when one of them can drive!

January 1st was our last night sleeping in our old house. (Andy had already disassembled and reassembled the beds at the new house.) 

The movers came on January 2nd to move all of the big stuff.

We moved the cats over first thing and kept them in the laundry room to keep them out of the way.

One of Andy's projects on moving day was getting the TV set up. The TV is massive and came with the house, which was a nice bonus!

Our new couches also happened to get delivered that day, so my Dad was trying them out for us.

Once the movers were gone, we let the cats out. They were VERY interested in exploring and seemed to get comfortable fairly quickly.

The day after we moved, we had a Trilogy reunion with the girls' friends from our old neighborhood. Moving away from our beloved neighbors was definitely the hardest part about our move, although we are only fifteen minutes away. I was glad the girls could all see that they will still be able to hang out!

One of our first nights in the new house we went down to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, which happens to be within walking distance of our new house! It was the official celebration of our move, and we spent a lot of the time sharing our favorite Trilogy memories. After living there for 17.5 years, we sure have a lot of wonderful memories.

That following Monday, the kids started back to school. Mondays are always home days so that helped ease us back to reality.

It's been a few weeks now, and we feel pretty fully settled, which is wonderful...

We are very thankful to the Lord for our new house,

and we're hoping to make many new, wonderful memories here!
