I'm so excited that it's Christmas. I've been playing Christmas music and making cookies. I haven't really been able to slow down and enjoy the season since we've been married because I've been working and/or traveling.

My brother and sister are both home from college for the holidays, and I love it when my whole family is together. My two brothers came over the other day, and after dinner we cracked up (and cringed) watching old home videos. My sister and mom came over for lunch today to spend time with Joey.

Joey is 8 weeks old today. He smiles all the time (when he's not spitting up) and even laughs a little. It's really cute! Andy and I decided to get a video camera for each other for Christmas so hopefully we'll be able to post more videos soon.

What can I say...we have high expectations for the little bugger.

Holy Cow!!! Joey slept for 10 straight hours last night! He's always been a good sleeper at night, but this is by far the longest he has ever slept at one time. For the past week or so, we've been trying to set a routine for bedtime. Around 7:45 Andy gives him a bath (which they both LOVE), and then I feed and rock him in his room. He ends up going to bed around 8:30, and it's been working really well. Last night he slept without making a peep until 6:30 am. Of course, I didn't sleep as well since I had to get up a couple of times to make sure he was still breathing! I couldn't believe it. At 6:30 am I fed him and then put him down again thinking he might not go back to sleep easily. He ended up falling asleep right away and then got up at 10:00! That's my boy! He has a very happy, well-rested mommy, that's for sure!

Joey was baptized on Sunday evening. We wanted to get him baptized, but we haven't joined a church yet. The church we've been going to the most consistently happily agreed to baptize Joey in the name of our church in Albuquerque.

Joey wore the christening gown that his great-great-great grandmother made. The above picture is of the people at the baptism that have worn it: my mom, grandma, me, and my brother Timmy.

I was nervous about the timing of Joey's baptism because it was right during the time when he usually gets pretty fussy. The pastor even mentioned not to worry if he screamed during it. Thankfully, he was perfect the whole evening. I think the baptism is already having an effect on him! :-)

After the service, my parents picked up chinese food, and we had dinner at our condo. Delicious!

A few years ago the college and career group at our church in Albuquerque was trying to come up with a name for ourselves. No one had any good ideas until Andy suggested calling it the Andy Lanzone Fan Club, or ALF for short. Strangely this name didn’t stick, but our friend Erika made an Andy Lanzone Fan Club t-shirt for me. Just before we left Albuquerque, Erika presented us with a matching onesie for Joey. It’s fantastic!

In an earlier post I talked about how all Joey did was eat and sleep. My friend, Kelly, commented that he also pooped. Well, I forgot to add that he also spits up a lot. And I mean A LOT! As we were trying to get a good picture of our ALF gear, Andy happened to get an action shot. Lovely!

My friend Stacie is obsessed with the show The Office. She kept telling me to watch it, but I never did. Finally, she just decided to buy me the season one DVD for my birthday. Well that did the trick. Andy and I watched it, and we’ve been hooked ever since. Stacie then let me borrow season two. Andy and I watched all the episodes in a week.

If you haven’t seen the show, I recommend it. It’s hilarious. However, it’s the kind of show where 1) you have to get to know the characters before you really think it’s funny and 2) the more times you see an episode the funnier it gets. So if you see one episode and aren’t that impressed, don’t give up

On Saturday Stacie and my other friend, Monica, came over to our condo. They made us lunch, and we watched our favorite episodes from season one. Great times! The only problem was that it was really hard for me not to say all the lines out loud
