The last day of school was last Wednesday. We were all super excited for summer to begin. We kicked it off like we normally do with a pool party and taco night with friends. From left to right: Isabella, Ellie, Chloe, Brooke, Hannah, Joey, Nate, Matias and Luke (Chloe's brother stopped by for the pool part).
Whew, this camera dump is way overdue! This picture is from the end of March. Andy had a quick business trip up to Google's headquarters in Mountain View. His dad happened to be in the same area for business at the same time so they met up for dinner at Westlake Joe's. Papa J grew up going to Westlake Joe's, and it's one of his favorite restaurants.
I mentioned in Andy's birthday post that we got him tickets to the Roar and Snore Safari at the Safari Park for his birthday. Our tickets were for this past Friday night. Andy worked from home a half day on Friday. When the kids got home from school, they took quick showers, and then we headed to the Safari Park.
The school year is almost over, and we've been busy with lots of school activities. One of my favorite activities of the year is the track meet. Hannah got to be the 4th grade girls' representative for the softball throw. It was the same event she did last year.
It had been a while since Ellie and Andy had gone on a date night, so they planned a night out to the Cheesecake Factory. Here are pictures from their sweet night out...
The Cheesecake Factory is right by the mall so they killed some time in Old Navy while they were waiting for their table.
After dinner they went back to the mall and hung out in Justice for a while.

We had a very rainy softball/baseball season this year, so many of the practices and games were cancelled. Honestly, I'm never sad to have less things on our schedule, but it was nice when the kids were finally able to play.
Somehow, we didn't get any pictures of Joey playing baseball this year. He was on the Red Sox and had a really nice team. His coach was VERY enthusiastic and positive the whole season even though the team struggled a lot especially at the beginning. Despite just having a mediocre win/loss record, Joey had a great season and really enjoyed playing. He pitched and played first base a lot.
