We recently found out about a really cool hiking area practically in our backyard called the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve, so we headed out for a short hike on Saturday. Joey was pumped when he found out we were going hiking. He kept asking, "Are we going to the wild?"

Hannah was less than enthused about the experience at first because we put her in this Ergo carrier that I borrowed from my friend. She actually screamed when we first put her in it. What can I say? She's a little feisty.

She was doing better here, but she was just not a fan of being on Daddy's back.

So I got her. And boy, was she snuggly. We both loved this position! The Ergo carrier puts all the weight on your hips as opposed to your back and shoulders, so it was very comfortable.
While we were hiking, Joey decided that we were all video game characters. Joey was Mario, Andy was Luigi, I was Princess Peach, and Hannah was Toad.

I'm not sure what the Super Mario Brothers were doing hiking in the wild, but it sure made for a fun adventure!

And that means it's splash park time.
Well, we live in Southern California...we kind of go to the splash park year round.
But it still feels like it should be a summer-time activity.
The important thing is that Hannah is a big fan.
Except the time she looked directly into the water spout exactly 0.5 seconds before the water shot out of it. That kind of freaked her out.
But look, she recovered!

This was last Friday when she was still a little nervous about walking.It's much better when your brother helps you.

Especially a brother wearing his cool new Lightening McQueen swimming suit.
He would be sad if I neglected to mention it.

After 14 months and one week, Hannah Belle is finally walking. She's quite proud of this accomplishment and tends to giggle while she walks. It was worth the wait!

For the first time since Hannah was born, my mom took Hannah while Joey and I had the whole day to ourselves. We were going to go to Sea World, but that didn't work out so we ended up going to the zoo. We had so much fun. It was so nice just spending time with Joey. It never ceases to amaze me how once you have two kids, just having to take care of one seems like a vacation.

The highlights at the zoo were riding the Skyfari sky ride, getting to see a polar bear getting fed and doing tricks, watching a baby jaguar pace back and forth right in front of us, and going to a really cool bird show where the birds zoomed right over our heads. Oh, and Joey's favorite part? The cherry slurpee on the way out.

After the zoo, we went home to take a quick nap (Well, I napped. Joey just played quietly in his room), and then we headed to Legoland. I thought I was going to win "Mom of the Year" award by going to the zoo and Legoland in one day, but it wasn't meant to be. The Lord was obviously trying to keep me humble because I totally forgot that Legoland is closed on Wednesdays until the summer season. We were disappointed, but we ended up stopping by a nearby strawberry field and picking strawberries. Then we went to a park and finally ended up at Nana's house to pick up Hannah.

Good times! Just wish I had brought my camera...doh!

We had a fun weekend filled with lots of celebrating. It was great having both sides of our family together to celebrate Andy's birthday and Mother's Day. Hannah was very happy being in the middle of all the action.

So I choose the latter, but it sure makes it difficult to keep my purse organized.

And sometimes my credit cards end up in the trash.
