For those of you who have read my blog for over a year, you know my summer time blogging is spotty at best. I'm not going to lie, I have really enjoyed my unannounced blogging break---well, except for the guilty feelings.
Our summer has been busy, busy, busy. Let me explain...no, let me sum up (bonus points to the person who recognizes that quote).
My sister is home from college so that's always a huge summer treat. She often stops by on her way home from work. Joey loves "Rae-Rae," and even calls out for her when he's supposed to be napping.
Andy and I went to my 10-year high school reunion a couple of weeks ago. I was really excited about it, but people warned me that the 10-year reunion can be kind of awkward because people are still pretty immature. We ended up having a really fun time, and everyone that I talked to was very friendly and excited to be there.
We didn't think we were going to have an official vacation this summer, but then we found out at the last minute that Andy's brother, Timmy was visiting his parents from Philadelphia. Thankfully, we just had to reschedule a couple of things and then we were off to Phoenix. Andy, Timmy, and their friend, Dave Logan basically held a video game convention for the weekend with periodic swimming breaks. We all had a great time.
We've had lots of visitors this summer, which is a great part of living in San Diego. Our good friends from Albuquerque stayed with us for a couple of nights, Dave Logan came over for the 4th of July weekend, and a friend I taught with in Albuquerque stopped by with her husband earlier this week. It was so fun catching up with old friends.
Joey is developing by leaps and bounds. How fascinating it is to watch a little person grow up! Potty training is going really well. I feel pretty confident he'll be fully potty trained (during the day) by the time he turns two. He also says more and more words all the time. The most recent thing he likes to say is, "song," when requesting a bedtime lullaby. Sometimes he even says, "la-la song," so instead of singing words I am supposed to just sing, "La la la..."
As our summer continues, I'm sure it will stay busy. I'm hoping to get back to fairly consistent blogging, so hopefully I will post pictures soon!
