There's Treasure Everywhere
Valentine's Day is the one holiday that makes liars out of Andy and me. For some reason, on this holiday alone, we agree not to get each other presents, and somehow when the big day rolls around, we both have presents for each other. The sad thing is that after four years we are still genuinely surprised when the other person gets something for us. Sad but true!

This year I woke up to a sock hunt! A little background...I love cozy socks! One year for Christmas a student gave me a pair of really cozy socks. As soon as I would get home from teaching, I would take off my shoes and slip into them. Such a wonderful feeling! Now that I'm a stay-at-home mom I get to wear them all the time!

Yesterday morning when I woke up I saw this random pink fluffy thing in the bathroom. It turns out it was a sock. I kept looking around the house and found 6 individual socks, each stuffed with Starburts and a sweet note! Hooray! I'm actually wearing the pinks ones right now!

So, you ask, what did I break down and get Andy? Well some of you eagle-eyed readers spotted one of Andy's prized possession in these photos from our condo. He LOVES his Batman pillow case. Well, now he gets to rest his head on Superman and Spiderman.

Being the stay at home mom that I am now, I was able to make Valentine's cookies! I thought I would show off my achievement. The only problem is that I really like to eat these cookies, so I had to make three batches in order to have enough to give some away. YIKES!

Looks like we've got a thumb sucker!
Joey usually tries to fit as many fingers into his mouth as he can, but I guess when he's sleeping he just prefers his thumb.

One great thing about being back in California is the fresh fruit and vegetables. I was really spoiled growing up here and enjoying yummy fruit all year long. I realized my fortune when I went to school in Pennsylvania, and even when we lived in New Mexico. It was just a little scarier buying produce in the grocery store; I never knew what I was going to get.

The other day I bought a box of California Clementines called "Cuties." Clementines are irresistibly sweet, juicy mandarin tangerines that make a great snack. The above photo is what happened when I had a little too much fun with the stickers that came on the Cuties. As you can see, Joey did not have nearly as much fun as I did.

So the bug is much better at tummy time now. As you can see, he can hold his head up quite high, and lasts a lot longer than before. He still does not really enjoy tummy time as evidenced by the fact that he rolled over for the first time, just to end his tummy time session early!
Alright, one more of these silly things. Kelly "tagged" me (a while ago) so now I'm supposed to think of six weird things about myself. The hard part isn't thinking up six weird things, just six weird things that I want to share with everyone. Hmmm...

1. I actually enjoy doing laundry. This is good since I now do laundry pretty much everyday.

2. I don't like chocolate. I'll eat it, but it's just not that appealing to me. However, if you give me white chocolate or dark chocolate, I will just give it to someone else or just throw it away. Yuck!

3. Sometimes when I'm cooking I pretend I'm on a cooking show. I actually talk out loud about what I'm doing. This is very embarrassing.

4. I've slept in a men's bathroom. Seriously.

5. This weirdness just started recently, but for some inexplicable reason whenever I get in the car, I immediately turn down the volume on the car stereo. It doesn't matter how loud it is at the time, it is still too loud. I don't even notice that I do this most of the time, until Andy points it out to me.

6. Okay, I give up! I can't think of another one so we're going to do fill in the blank. Can you think of something weird about me?
Joey and I took our first long car ride on Tuesday. We drove an hour and a half to Anaheim to see our friend Pinky!

She was working at a Craft/Hobby show selling the Lazy Scrapper. Incidentally, I am now the proud owner of a lazy scrapper (thanks Pinky).

Last time Pinky saw me, I was 8 months pregnant. It was so fun for me to get to show her little Joey. I picked her up at the craft show, and we went to Tony Roma's for dinner. It was so nice to catch up with my good friend. If anyone else wants to come for a visit, Joey and I would love to see you, and we are willing to drive!
