After an Uber ride to the airport, a flight to Chicago and a bus ride to Indiana, we finally made it!
Benjamin and Christina picked us up at the bus stop and took us out to dinner in downtown Valparaiso where they live. The food was great and we had the friendliest waitress of all time. It was a lovely way to end a long day of traveling.
The next morning we were treated to amazing breakfast burritos with homemade chorizo before we hit the road to go see Rachel and her family.
Timmy and I were so excited to get to see Ben and Lauren! They were a little shy at first, but before long they had warmed up to us. They really liked getting to see pictures of their cousins on my phone.
Lo was more into the music.
At one point Michael, my brother-in-law, got out an old remote control helicopter. Ben was enthralled. We would play with it until the battery died, charge it up for a while, and then play some more. It was fun entertainment for all of us!
Even Lauren was mesmerized!
Hannah and Ellie have quite a collection of Beanie Boos (stuffed animals), and they thought it would be fun if Lauren had one as well so we brought her the little tiger on the right.
We brought a Duplo airplane for this guy. He was a fan.
While the kids napped, we just hung out. At one point my brothers started playing around with Snap Chat. Here's a face swap. Creepy! We sent that picture to my parents. My dad texted back, "The guys look just fine but Rachel looks hideous in the background." That cracked us up!
I got some amazing post nap snuggles with these two cuties.
Group selfie (groupie?) for my parents!
Sadly, Christina had to leave that night to go back to Valpo as she had an audition for which she had to practice. The rest of us enjoyed a nice dinner and relaxing evening.
